Narendra Modi calls on Vladimir Putin to set the armament of food supply

Narendra Modi has made Wladimir Putin with a call to end the war in Ukraine and to cease the armament of food supply, while India takes over the G20 Presidency for this year.

In an article for The Telegraph, the Indian Prime Minister warned that geopolitical struggles could "lead to humanitarian crises".

with a barely covered swipe at the Russian president, he said: "Our era does not have to be one of the war. In fact, nobody can be!"

The comments reflected Mr. Modis earlier criticism of Mr. Putin. On the edge of a summit in Uzbekistan in September he told the Russian leader that now was "no time for war".

India has refrained from condemning Moscow's procedure in Ukraine at the United Nations, while the government is balancing its relationships with Russia and the West.

But the country has changed its attitude slightly because the war intensified and energy and food shortages are a greater global threat.

In a comment on Thursday, Mr. Modi said that the biggest challenges of the world "cannot be solved by mutual struggle, but only through joint action".

Mr. Modi did not directly refer to Mr. Putin, but said that the world was "trapped in the same zero-sum.".

The Indian Prime Minister said that he would use the G20 presidency to try to "depolitic the global supply of food, fertilizers and medical products" in order to avert humanitarian disasters.

In an apparent attack on the West, Mr. Modi also hit the after -school care of vaccines, "even if billions are still at risk".

The South Asian country led demands for a waiver of intellectual property rights for COVID-19 vaccines during the pandemic and accused the European nations of preventing poor countries from accessing the vaccinations.

Herr Modi, however, expressed himself optimistic when he emphasized the topic of the Indian G20 presidency-"one earth, a family, a future".

he pointed out to India's wealth of spiritual traditions, in particular on the view that harmony "in us and between us" is "essential for our physical, social and ecological well -being".

Mr. Modi emphasized that India was "the fastest growing great economy" after Great Britain had overtaken as the fifth largest economy in September.

"During our G20 presidency, we will present India's experience, knowledge and models as possible templates for others, especially for developing countries," he said.

he added: "Let's work together to design a new paradigm - a human -centered globalization."
