Emergency inserts at the main train station and in Kray-Nord: Massively affected rail traffic in Essen
Serious incidents affected rail traffic in Essen on Wednesday morning. Two emergency medicines ensured considerable delays and failures in the timetable.

Shortly afterwards, at 6.30 a.m., there was another incident at the main train station in Essen. Here a person was recorded by an input train to track 6. The main train station as an important traffic junction was then completely closed, which led to considerable restrictions in rush hour. The exact circumstances of this incident are still unclear, but the authorities are currently assuming attempted suicide.
Fire brigade, emergency services and police were in large -scale operation to cope with the situation. The investigation is still ongoing and further information about the two incidents is expected.

The regional expression and regional trains RE2, RE16, RE42, RE49, RB33, RB40 and RB01 as well as the S-Bahn lines S1, S2, S3, S6 and S9 were affected by the closures. There were partial failures and delays in all local transport. At around 7.50 a.m., however, the railway was able to report that the emergency doctor was ended at the main train station.
In order to bring the travelers concerned to their goal despite the closures, a bus emergency traffic from Luchs Reisen was set up.
