Russia takes the initiative in the fight for Donbass

According to military analysts,

Russia has "taken the initiative" in the fight for the Donbass when Moscow's armed forces are trying to circle Ukrainian resistance fighter and cutting up supply lines.

With a big victory for Vladimir Putin in the eastern industrial region, his forces were supposedly about the conquest of Sewerodonezk, one of the last cities in the region under Ukrainian control.

The takeover of the city would put the entire Luhansk region under Russian occupation, but local officials insisted on Tuesday that Sewerodonezk would stay under Ukrainian control.

Moscow apparently focused on the city, which had 100,000 inhabitants before the war after Kiev had given up control over Mariupol after a brutal two -month struggle.

Western officials believe that it is only a matter of time before Russia successfully cuts the Ukrainian supply lines in the region and cuts them out of western help and reinforcement.

In his Daily Intelligence Update, the British Ministry of Defense said: “Russia has increased the intensity of his operations in Donbass because it is trying to circle Sewerodonezk, Lysschansk and Rubischne.

"The northern and southern axis of this operation are currently separated by about 25 km from Ukrainian territory."

The Ministry of Defense added that the Ukrainian resistance was strong and forces were well -dug -up for defense positions, but Russia had achieved "local success", which was partly due to the concentration of artillery units.

"If the Donbass front line continues to move west, this will expand the Russian communication channels and probably lead to their forces are confronted with further logistical feed-in," it said. "The conquest of the boiler of Sewerodonezk by Russia would mean that the entire area of Luhansk would be placed under Russian crew."

To further hinder the attempts by Ukraine to strengthen their position in Sewerodonezk, Russian troops destroyed a bridge that the city connected with Lyshansk. The step is expected to prevent the withdrawal of the defending Ukrainian formations if the area is under Russian control.

Serhiy Haidai, regional governor of Luhansk, said that the situation in the eastern region was "stable" but "difficult". "Sewerodonezk is fully under the control of the Ukrainian authorities. The armed forces keep the defense," he added.

In a video message published on the Messaging app Telegram, Mr. Haidai estimated that "at least 10,000" Russian troops and "a huge amount" of equipment in the Luhansk region were. He said: "We understand that the Russians have now all thrown [their] troops to conquer Severodonetsk."

In his daily update, the Ukrainian military said that his "most difficult fighting situation" was in Donbass.

"Bachmut, Popasna, Sewerodonezk - The occupiers have so far concentrated the greatest activity in this direction," said Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj. "You organized a massacre there and try to destroy everything that lives there."

The Ukrainian general staff said that Russia is "intensive fire along the entire contact line" and meets deep Ukrainian defense positions in Donetsk.

Luhansk and Donetsk are the two provinces that form the East Donbass industrial region.

The Center for Defense Strategies, a thought factory based in Ukraine, said Russian troops moved across the Donbass, whereby Putin's armed forces were a mile from a main street that served as the main logistical route for Ukrainian troops near Sewerodonezk and Lyshansk.

"The Russians constantly move from Popasna to the north and bypass the Ukrainian troops that Komyschuvakha, Khram Sviatogo, Katerinivka and Hirske," said the thinking factory in its daily conflict update.

Rochan Consulting, a military analyst, said that the Ukrainian lines of defense have "collapsed near Popasna, Lyman and Severodonetsk in the past few days.

"The attacks near Sewerodonezk have taken up speed since Sunday. Russian armed forces are about to penetrate the city," it said on Tuesday. Russian troops approach the city from three directions - west, east and north, added them.

"Russian armed forces took the initiative in the axes of Popasna, Sewerodonezk and Lyman. They lead artillery fire along the entire contact line in Donbass and support ground attacks that have proven to be successful," it said.

Russian troops are said to have secured a mile to a mile to the east of the T1302 motorway.

Franz-Stefan Gady from the International Institute for Strategic Studies said that the end of Kiev's control over the street would "make" massively difficult "attempts to increase the armed forces in Donbass.

"The Russian armed forces are slowly but methodological and systematically try to cut the Ukrainian armed forces from their pension lines," he said.

"The situation for the Ukrainian armed forces is becoming increasingly critical, since there are more and more anecdotal evidence that they are running out of ammunition, fuel and other supplies in the sewerodonezk-lypsychansk area."
