Steinmeier calls the fear maker at the end of the business, while the AfD gains in surveys of approval

The high poll values of the AfD are worried about the other parties. Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier has now joined the debate and demands "an economy of the problem solving". In a summer interview with ZDF, he warned against further promoting the fear of fear. It is important to concentrate on problem solutions instead of fear.

Steinmeier was concerned about the AfD's poll values, but emphasized that not every critical question should automatically be classified as populism or right -wing extremism. He asked the government parties to ask themselves whether they address the right topics, choose the right communication and show enough unity. The surveys showed that parts of the electorate turn away from the governing parties, and it is important to find out why the AfD does not benefit from it.

also SPD boss Lars Klingbeil commented on this topic. He named uncertainty as a possible reason for the upswing of the AfD. The company is tired after three years of crises, including Corona pandemic, the war in Europe, the energy crisis and inflation. This creates the breeding ground for populism that right -wing extremists would spread. Klingbeil admitted that the disputedness of the traffic light coalition also contributed to the uncertainty of people.

The CSU Vice Chairman Manfred Weber described the AfD as a political opponent and enemy. He called on the Union to counter the fear -driven politics and to present clear concepts. Weber emphasized that one also had to face the topics of the legal nationalists and should find an appropriate tone. Problems would not only have to be described, but also solved to combat populism and radicalism.

The Left Party also sees the strengthening of the AfD in a systematic neglect of the East. Many people in East Germany feel left behind and this experience has fatal consequences. The Left Party warns that a "further so" could bring irreparable damage to democracy, especially with regard to the upcoming state elections in Brandenburg, Saxony and Thuringia.

The AfD is at a record high in the current surveys nationwide. In ARD Germany trend, the party improved to 20 percent in the Sunday question and is therefore the second strongest force after the Union. However, the SPD only came to 18 percent. The uncertainty of the Germans is also reflected in the surveys, because 77 percent stated that they are worried from the current conditions in Germany. A quarter cited the work of the federal government as the reason and 15 percent the upswing of the AfD and the right of the right in society.
