A high-ranking Chernobyl manager was arrested after Ukrainian armed forces had accused him of working with the Russians who tried to conquer the nuclear power plant.
The Ukrainian police and secret services have arrested the deputy head of the work that are not mentioned by name, but only announced the arrest.
"The soldier fled out of the ward and provided no physical protection for the facility, which was part of its functional responsibilities," said the DBR, the state investigative office of Ukraine, in a statement. "DBR officials also examine the possible participation of the official in subversive activities against Ukraine. In particular ... whether he helped the Russian military to conquer Chernobyl at the end of February."
The conquest of Chernobyl, three hours of car north of Kiev, was one of the main goals of the Russian army when she marched to Ukraine on February 24th.
