Environmental aid: BMW caught switching software at exhaust gas values using prohibited switch -off software
Forbidden switch-off software active-environmental aid is causing an alarm due to BMW exhaust gas values
The German Environmental Aid (DUH) has found a greatly increased number of nitrogen oxide limit values for exhaust gas measurements on various BMW models. In some cases, a 49-fold amount of nitrogen oxides was measured, which was never measured beforehand. The DUH accuses the car manufacturer BMW the manipulation of exhaust gas values of its cars. Here, the DUH has proven banned shutdown devices in various BMW models. In some cases, the limit values for nitrogen oxide emissions were exceeded. However, the group contradicted the allegations.
A BMW 525D produces, for example, a 32-fold amount of nitrogen oxide emissions than is allowed in the Euro 5 standard. According to Duh, a BMW 318D, according to Duh, emblazoned the permitted euro 6 limit value. Duh federal managing director Jürgen Resch emphasized: "This torn everything we ever measured". In addition, these exceptionally high emissions of nitrogen oxides in the examined BMW models could not be explained with changed driving profiles on the street in contrast to the laboratory.
Furthermore, Resch explains that software analyzes of the engine control would have shown several shutdown devices that would not be activated under laboratory conditions. These mechanisms expose exhaust gas cleaning in diesel vehicles, so that part of the exhaust gases are attributed to the engine and burned again. The vehicles thus emit more nitrogen oxides.
The DUH calls for the publication of all exhaust gas measurements and the immediate decommissioning of affected vehicles or the “arrangement of official hardware retrofitting”. BMW, on the other hand, explained that the DUH had repeated old allegations and similar allegations had already been refuted in the past. BMW does not use the detection of exhaust gas test stands influencing emission behavior.
German environmental aid accuses BMW of intentional bodily harm due to the high pollutant emissions. Consequences must now follow.
