Accident in the Siegburg tanning salon: Employees report dramatic incident

Sudden car accident shocks the tanning salon in Siegburg

around 12.10 p.m. at noon, the tanning studio on Wilhelmstrasse, Siegburg, was shaken by a loud noise. An employee, Marion S., recalls: "I just sat and worked at the counter. When I turned around, a car suddenly stood just in front of me." She shouted at a shock and a customer also reacted panicked.

In the accident, a 39-year-old Siegburg was seriously injured. A VW Touran was crashed from the roundabout through the glass front of the tanning studio. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital. A 27-year-old woman from Lohmar, who left the tanning studio seconds before the accident, also suffered injuries, but was released at the scene of the accident after medical treatment.

According to the police report, the 39-year-old driver drove into the roundabout against the direction of travel and then headed head-on to the tanning studio. On the way there he pushed against a palm and a flag mast, tore up a big boulder and finally crashed into the front door of the studio. The car remained on a large stone.

The fire brigade, police and emergency services moved in with a large contingent. The car was initially stabilized to prevent any over tipping over. However, the driver was not trapped and tried to climb out of the wreck. Due to the injuries, however, the emergency doctor decided to gently free him out of the car. After about half an hour the Siegburg was invited to a stretcher and brought to a clinic.

The damage to the tanning studio is enormous. The steel frame of the door was broken out. A structural engineer examined the damage and found that no load -bearing parts of the building were damaged. There were no evidence of the driver's alcohol or drug use.

The VW Touran was no longer ready to drive and was secured. The total damage is estimated on a five -digit amount. The roundabout was closed for about two hours during the accident.

The traffic commissioner has started further investigations into the cause of the accident. An investigation was initiated against the 39-year-old driver on suspicion of negligent assault.
