Children were shot under nine people when there was a shot near the popular beach in Florida

nine people, including at least three children, were injured at a shootout near a popular beach in Florida when the country celebrated the memorial day.

After preliminary investigations, a struggle between two groups near Hollywood Beach Broadwalk escalated, the police said.

The shootout occurred on Monday around 6:40 p.m. local time (11:40 p.m. BST) near a supermarket, an ice cream parlor by Ben & Jerry’s and a subway sandwich shop.

A person was arrested, but another suspect remains at large. Several of the victims were brought to a children's hospital, said police spokeswoman Deanna Bettineschi.

Videos posted on Twitter showed emergency services who provided help several injured victims. Their conditions are still unclear at the moment.



Alvie Carlton Scott III said he heard shots when he was on the beach. He hid behind a tree and then fled out of the area after a police officer asked people to run away.

The witness Jamie Ward said that several young men had argued in front of the shops when someone pulled a gun and started shooting.

The police said there would be a strong presence of civil servants while the investigation continues. Officials have also set up an area for the merging of family members.

Hollywood Beach is a popular beach destination about 11 miles south of Fort Lauderdale and 20 miles north of Miami.

The Mayor of Hollywood, Josh Levy, said in an explanation: "Many thanks to the merciful Samaritan, paramedics, police officers and emergency doctors and nurses for their immediate response to help the victims of today's shootout."
