Yevgeny Prigozhin says that the Wagner Group could stop soon to exist

Jewgeni Prigozhin said on Saturday that his Wagner mercenary group could soon stop when he was hit by the Russian military for ammunition deliveries.

Mr. Prigozhin, who is close to Vladimir Putin, has repeatedly advertised the success of the group on the battlefield in Ukraine, despite the alleged attempts by the Kremlin to weaken it.

He accuses the Russian Ministry of Defense to hinder his supply of ammunition and workers. Western analysts believe that Sergei Schoigu, Russia's Minister of Defense, tries to suppress Mr. Prigoschin's growing political influence.

"Well, with regard to the general need for grenades on the front, what we want. Today we get to the point where Wagner ends," he told the Russian war blogger Semyon Pegov.

"Wagner will stop in a short time. We will become history, no reason to worry, such things happen," he continued.

Mr. Prigozhin, known for his combative style and his ironic sense of humor, made the comments after a joke on Thursday about Bakhmut, where the group led the attack.

Mr. Prigozhin said his forces would stop shooting the city so that the Ukrainian armed forces could show the city of US journalists. Later he said it was a joke. It is not clear whether his recent comments were also joked.

In the course of the conflict in Ukraine, the Wagner Group has developed into a mainstream militia by a dodgy asset of the Kremlin, which was supposedly used to do Putin's dirty work in Syria and Africa-where it has military and mining contracts that plays a decisive role in Ukraine.

Mr. Prigozhin has publicly complained about attempts to play Wagner's role and play down his achievements, even though the Kremlin has contested a crack.

At the beginning of this week, the MPs again called for the group to classify as a terrorist organization after a new report found that it had played a role in the destabilization of the Sudan.

The cross-party all-party parliamentary group to Sudan accused the Russian company to train troops in Sudan during the recent Prosdemocratic protests, deliver weapons to the warring parties and to spread misinformation.
