Aschaffenburg, Deutschland - A week after the tragic knife attack in Aschaffenburg, the family of Yannis said goodbye. The two-year-old boy died on January 22, 2025 when a 28-year-old man from Afghanistan started a group of children in the Schöntal Park. A 41-year-old passer-by, Kai-Uwe D., also lost his life when he tried to protect the children. In addition to the two dead, three other people were injured, including another child, an educator and a 61-year-old man.

The suspect who is in psychiatric treatment was arrested after the incident.
