Knife attack in Aschaffenburg: 485,000 euros collected for the victims!

After the tragic act of violence in Aschaffenburg, which took place on January 22, many affected people fight with the immediate and long -term consequences. A total of 485,000 euros were collected in donations to help the victims and their relatives. The money was divided into 15 families and individuals who came into contact with the incident, including victims, helpers, children, educators as well as those who have rushed to the suspect. A first report by the "Main-Echo" drew the city of Aschaffenburg to these generous support services.

The donations not only came from the region, but also throughout Germany from individuals and companies who wanted to show their solidarity with those affected. Some of the donors wanted their contributions to benefit certain people, a wish that was taken into account in the distribution of funds.

Details on the act of violence

On the day, a mentally ill refugee from Afghanistan stabbed innocent children and passers -by in the Aschaffenburger Park Schöntal. In this act of violence, a two-year-old boy tragically lost his life, as did a 41-year-old father who tried to help the children. Another three people were seriously injured. The shock wave that left this act is obviously still in the spotlight.

A forensic-psychiatric report that was subsequently created indicates a high probability of the perpetrator's incapacity to guilt. This is based on a chronic psychiatric illness that denied him the insight into the injustice of his act. The final decision on his incapacity to blame is now imminent.

Currently the 28-year-old Afghan is housed in a closed psychiatric facility and is waiting for the process or a security procedure. This situation illustrates how complex the circumstances related to this tragedy are and how important it is to support the families and victim communities concerned.

Numerous initiatives and fundraisers show that society is together to help the injured and survivors a bit to process their painful experiences.

For more information about the consequences of such tragic incidents and support for those affected, various resources and help offers are available, as described in the details of the Paris project.
