Swan on B17: exciting crash landing ensures traffic chaos!

On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, a bizarre spectacle occurred on the B17 near Lagerlechfeld: a young swan broke into the road during his flight in a dramatic descent. Drivers were stunned when the feathered friend was exhausted on the right lane after a turbulent landing. Fortunately, the drivers reacted quickly, braked and managed to bring the displaced swan to safety.

The Augsburg traffic police were quickly on hand and took care of the feathered unfortunate one. The swan received a warm place on the lap of an official and waited well until the Untermeitingen fire brigade came. Stowed into a safe transport box, the exhausted bird went to the veterinary clinic, where it should be professionally cared for. A happy outcome for our feathered fracture pilot: a swan just had a pig!
