further measures in the district

In addition to these projects, the renovation of state road 2205 between Neida and the branch to Breitenau (Kreisstraße CO 18) begins on May 12, 2025. This work includes a length of about 1.7 km and include the installation of a new asphalt layer and the renewal of the banquets. The state building authority Bamberg is concerned about the financial challenges in road construction. Sales in German road construction has increased in recent years, but showed a decline of almost two billion euros in 2023. Nevertheless, over 13 billion euros were generated in road construction. Despite these challenges, the road construction remains the most important sector in civil engineering with over 80,000 employees, while road builders are one of the most popular apprenticeships in this area.

The investments in road construction projects are also subject to a continuous review, with investments of around 8.5 billion euros for German long -distance roads in 2023. These investments are expected to increase to just under 9.8 billion euros by 2028 to further promote the expansion of the infrastructure.

Overall, it can be seen that the renovations and maintenance of the streets in the Bamberg area and beyond play an important role in order to maintain and improve the traffic infrastructure. The state building authority Bamberg appeals to the citizens of being careful during the construction work and adhering to the traffic signs.
