Construction site chaos: Longer diversions announced in Kirchenbirkig!
Road construction has begun in full swing in the region around Kirchenbirkig. The latest construction work is aimed at renovating the through town. That work has already started and will last until the end of July. The company commissioned is currently ensuring that the water channels are thoroughly cleaned using heavy machinery, like this courier reported.
But commuters and residents now have to be patient: traffic routing has changed dramatically. Thanks to a traffic light regulation, traffic on the busy road is regulated, which results in long waiting times, especially for vehicles from Nuremberg, Lauf, the Bayreuth district and Bonn. Detours are unavoidable. The planned full closure for the construction work between Kirchenbirkig and Weidenhüll has been postponed to the period from July 21st to July 28th due to structural reasons and is therefore an additional obstacle to traffic, as is the case North Bavarian News report.
Planning and converting conversions
The circumstances of the construction site are diverse. In addition to the full closure already mentioned, another major measure between Regenthal and Weidenhüll will begin on July 29th under full closure, which is expected to last until August 13th. The bypass leads via the St 2663 to Schüttersmühle, to the B 470 in the direction of Wannberg, to the B 2 to Weidensees and on to the St 2163. To ensure that drivers who have to deal with construction sites do not lose track, the diversion routes are signposted accordingly. Road users are asked to heed these instructions to avoid inconvenience.
Behind these extensive construction measures are long-term plans for a sustainable improvement of the transport infrastructure. These belong to the so-called permanent construction sites, as described by Streets.NRW be categorized. Detailed planning is being carried out here in order to control traffic as best as possible during construction work and to minimize disruptions.
It looks like the renovation of the through town will require some adaptable drivers. Finally, we can only hope that the work progresses quickly and the diversions will soon be a thing of the past. Patience is required when it comes to the clean routes in the region!
