Tragic accident on A70: 60-year-old dies when spinning

On Friday morning there was a tragic traffic accident on the A70 near Schirradorf, which demanded the life of a 60-year-old driver. The man who was traveling with his Audi towards Bayreuth lost control of his vehicle at around 10:50 a.m., which overturned and landed in the ditch. Despite immediate aid measures, the driver still succumbed to his serious injuries at the scene of the accident. The property damage to his Audi is estimated at around 30,000 euros.

The accident also led to a rear-end collision between two VW vehicles, in which a 19-year-old from Seelow was slightly injured and had to be taken to the hospital. The A70 in the direction of Bayreuth was closed by the traffic police with the support of the fire brigade. The blocking should probably continue until 4:30 p.m., while an expert examined the cause of the accident. A total of around 70 police, fire brigade and emergency services and a rescue helicopter were used.
