Tragedy on the A70: 60-year-old fatally crashed at Schirradorf
On Friday morning, a fatal traffic accident occurred on the A70 near Schirradorf, in which a 60-year-old driver from Erlangen lost his life. At 10:50 a.m., the man with his Audi skidded for an unknown cause, overturned and landed in the ditch. Despite the immediate attempts to rescue, the 60-year-old died at the scene of the accident-his vehicle suffered property damage of around 30,000 euros.
The accident also led to a rear-end collision between two VW vehicles, in which a 19-year-old woman from Seelow suffered minor injuries. Rescue workers brought them to a nearby hospital for treatment. In the meantime, the Bayreuth traffic police blocked the A70 in the direction of Bayreuth. The closure is expected to continue until 4:30 p.m. Around 70 police, fire brigade and emergency services were used, supported by a rescue helicopter. An expert was involved to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident.
