he completed his professional training in orthodontics from 1962 to 1964 at the University Clinic in Bern under the direction of Prof. Dr. Paul Herren. In addition, he expanded his knowledge of Dr. Olav Bergland and Dr. Kaare Reitan in Oslo. His scientific work includes over 50 publications that deal with orthodontic treatment results as well as untreated dental and jaw misalignment, including an investigation into 69 orthodontic untreated people of the year 1942.
In 2008, Berg received a special award for his article in the "Journal of Orofacial Orthopedics". Together with Lisen Espeland and Arild Stenvik, he was honored for the best publication in this journal, which underlines its continuing relevance in dental research.
