Elbflorenz celebrates its first win of the season in the derby against Potsdam!

The long-awaited 3rd matchday of the 2nd Handball Bundesliga took place on September 12th, 2025 and was a real blast. HC Elbflorenz celebrated its first win of the season and defeated 1. VfL Potsdam by a slim 32:31. This exciting duel drew fans to the BallsportARENA Dresden, who loudly supported their team. Timo Löser was the hero of the game and scored the decisive goal just four seconds before the end. He scored a total of seven goals, proving how important he is to the team, while Mavin Siemer from Potsdam was the top scorer of the match with twelve goals.

But it wasn't just the players on the field who showed a strong performance: Robin Cantegrel shone in goal for HC Elbflorenz with nine saves and a rate of 38 percent, which gave him and his teammates a feeling of security. This wave of success could give the team the momentum it needs for the challenges ahead. After this first win, Elbflorenz now has the opportunity to continue to catch up and establish itself in the midfield of the league.
