E-scooter driver injured in Dooring accident on Duisburger Strasse

On Monday, January 27, 2025, there was a serious accident on Duisburger Straße in Oberhausen. A 54-year-old man who was traveling with an e-scooter crashed into the open door of a parked Opel Astra. The incident occurred at 2:09 p.m. when a 45-year-old opened the door of his vehicle without paying attention to the passing traffic.

The 54-year-old tried to avoid, but lost control of his vehicle and fell. Due to the fall, he contracted several injuries, which then had to be treated in a hospital. Despite repeated warnings of the police on the dangers of getting out of parked cars, the number of such accidents remains worryingly high.
