A pedestrian was injured yesterday in a shocking traffic accident in Hellersdorf when he crossed the street and overlooked an approaching tram on line 18. The 44-year-old stepped into the pedestrian festival shortly before 4 p.m. at the Henny-Porten-Straße intersection, but the 60-year-old tram driver could not stop in time despite a braking danger. The collision ended for the man with a head injury and several abrasions.

passers -by, including a nurse, hurried to help and provided initial support. Rescue workers brought the injured to a hospital for treatment. The tram driver, very unsettled by the incident, was also transported to the hospital. The tram traffic towards Riesaer Straße was interrupted for about 40 minutes, while the police started the investigation into the incident.
