Police helicopter finds missing 81-year-olds in Selmsdorf!

Selmsdorf, Deutschland - On April 14, 2025, an 81-year-old senior citizen from Selmsdorf, who was missing for several hours, was saved thanks to the use of a police helicopter by the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state police. Around 3:00 p.m., the crew of the helicopter Merlin 2 viewed the woman in need of help on the edge of a field. The helicopter was able to land nearby, and a crew member immediately took over the primary care of the elderly woman, who was responsive but obviously in an emergency.

The rescue operation was part of a comprehensive commitment of the Grevesmühl police station, supported by a service dog unit and the helicopter relay. The rapid use of the technical possibilities and the courageous action of the crew had made a decisive contribution to rescue, according to Ephk Frank Freitag, head of the police helicopter relay M-V. An ambulance then took the elderly to the hospital for further medical care.
