Risk -rich holidays: Heavy bicycle accidents informed on Easter day!

In the district of Vorpommern-Rügen, there were several alarming traffic accidents with cyclists during the Easter holidays. On Easter Saturday, a 70-year-old cyclist fell in Marlow and contracted serious head injuries. He had to be flown to the hospital by rescue helicopter.

Just a day later, on Easter Monday, another incident occurred in Zingst: An 11-year-old boy was injured when he wanted to go to the parking lot of a hotel and collided with a closing barrier. The boy suffered injuries in the mouth, while the police instead appeal to all cyclists to always be attentive when driving, especially to accompany children under supervision. Although there is no legal helmet, wearing a bicycle helmet is urgently advised to avoid serious injuries in an emergency
