A serious traffic accident occurred on May 10, 2025, at 4:30 p.m., in the roundabout Weddemweg/Reichenberg Straße in Salzgitter. A 16-year-old driver of a light skating bike crashed into a car driving in front of him, whose 36-year-old driver braked abruptly to enter a property. The impact led to a fall of the young person, who was slightly injuries and was brought to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The wreckage of the accident amounts to around EUR 1,500. The police are initiating investigations into negligent bodily harm.
