On Thursday morning, April 17, a serious sole accident occurred on the B68 near Lichtenau. A 32-year-old man lost control of his BMW around 10.50 a.m. and initially hurled over the opposite lane, finally landed in the ditch and crashed into a tree. Despite the serious injuries, the driver was able to free himself from the vehicle and was brought to a Paderborn hospital with an ambulance a little later.

The accident recording led to a 90-minute blocking of the road towards Lichtenau, while the police passed the traffic on one side. The BMW then had to be towed. The exact circumstances of the accident are currently still unclear.
