Serious accident in Dillenburg: 74-year-old with a rescue helicopter to the hospital

Dillenburg, Deutschland - On Saturday afternoon there was a dramatic frontal collision on Kreisstraße 83 in Dillenburg-Eibach. A 74-year-old driver got on the opposite lane for unexplained reasons and collided with an oncoming vehicle of a 21-year-old from Rhineland-Palatinate. The older driver was seriously injured and had to be flown to the hospital with a rescue helicopter, while his two youth drivers only suffered minor injuries. Both vehicles suffered total loss of around 15,000 euros, and the district road was closed for several hours.

On Sunday morning, a residential building in Mittenaar-Ballersbach was probably on fire due to a fireplace fire. The residents were able to save themselves, but someone was taken to the hospital with suspected flue gas intoxication. The building is in danger of collapsing and uninhabitable, and the fire damage is estimated at around 200,000 euros. In Solms-Albshausen, a garbage can burned next to a single-family house, but thanks to quick extinguishing work, it could be preserved from the fire. The property damage amounts to around 5,000 euros. Finally, an election poster was lit on Bahnhofstrasse in Leun at night, with the police looking for information while the poster was completely destroyed.
