Serious accident in Oldenburg: Drunk drivers crashed into traffic lights!

In the night of Saturday, February 1st, 2025, there was a serious traffic accident in Oldenburg. A 48-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle at 01:10 a.m. at the Cloppenburger Straße / Landwehrstraße intersection. He raced from the road, crashed into a traffic light mast and several traffic signs, whereby the car was completely destroyed. The accident led to the blocking of the intersection and the detour of the traffic due to the debris parts that were distributed everywhere.

The driver was seriously injured in the accident and had to be taken to the hospital. He suspected alcohol in the game, but because of his injuries, no breath alcohol test could be carried out. Instead, a blood sample was made to determine alcohol levels and his driver's license was ensured. The city of Oldenburg was called to assess the damage to the traffic lighting and the signs to the scene of the accident. No information is currently available on the amount of the damage.
