New preliminary course at the Erding vocational high school starts in 2026!
From February 2026, exciting new educational opportunities will start at the Erding Vocational High School. A preliminary course for secondary school students, which serves as a refresher in German, English and mathematics, is intended to make the transition to the 12th grade of vocational high school easier. How ED Live reports, participants who do not currently meet the admission requirements can achieve these by completing the preliminary course. The prerequisite is a minimum grade of 4 in the annual reports for the subjects mentioned.
Classes will take place on a total of three evenings per week from Monday, February 23, 2026: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. There will be no classes during the holidays. The preliminary course ends on July 30, 2026. Registrations will be possible soon, from November 10, 2025 to February 13, 2026. Those interested can contact the secretariat of the Erding vocational high school, room E 111. Opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Process and requirements
According to Laws of Bavaria, Section 4 regulates the admission requirements for the preliminary course. The six-month preliminary course at the technical college prepares qualified students for transfer. The subjects remain limited to German, English and mathematics. Admission requires a statement from the school attended and a consultation.
In order to take part in the full-year and half-year preliminary course at the vocational high school, you must also fulfill the requirements by the time you complete the course. The school management decides on admission, especially if the course has already been attended once. The integration of applicants who have lived in a German-speaking EU member state for less than 48 months will also be taken into account, although successful completion of an aptitude day is a prerequisite.
