Derby season begins: SC Eltersdorf meets FSV Stadeln in ELSNER Park!
On Friday evening, the ELSNER Sports Park will be the venue for an eagerly awaited derby between SC Eltersdorf and FSV Stadeln - a start that has a very special meaning not only for the teams, but also for the fans. SC Eltersdorf is entering the second home of their first detour to the Bayernliga Nord, after they missed the painful promotion to the Regionalliga last season with 73 points when they were eliminated in relegation against Viktoria Aschaffenburg, who were able to stay in the Regionalliga Bayern. A clear advantage that the Eltersdorfers want to repay on the field.
The Stadelers, on the other hand, are going into their debut season full of optimism and have set themselves clear goals: They want to be at the top and maybe even crown the season at the end. Preparation was promising, with successful test matches during the summer break which gave their spirits a boost. Nevertheless, the injury list remains worrying because players like Herzner, Niedermayer and Egerer have to pass. The team also misses Kevin Bär, who has been injured for a long time, and Hiroki Akimoto, who is back in training after breaking his collarbone.
An exciting opening
There will be a great supporting program before kick-off from 5:45 p.m.: a city marching band and the Rockabillies with a rousing dance performance will entertain the fans. There will also be a presentation of all the teams in the Bayernliga Nord, and Bernd Eigner expresses his anticipation of the start of the season, hoping that many spectators will fill the sports park. In addition, around 1,000 visitors are expected, which is why there are two additional cash desks at the guest entrance.
The organizers have also ensured that the traffic block from Langenaustraße in the direction of “Am Pestalozziring” has been lifted and recommend that those arriving from Tennenlohe use the parking facilities in the industrial area to avoid stress.
A look back at the past season
Looking back on the past season is bittersweet for Eltersdorf. In the decisive relegation they were not able to play optimally and showed nerves at crucial moments. In a dramatic penalty shootout, in which Eltersdorf himself missed a penalty - Jassmann hit the crossbar - Aschaffenburg prevailed. Gorbunow and Camdzic provided exciting moments, but ultimately Eltersdorf failed to take advantage of their chances.
In heavily attended relegation games, such as the second leg of the regional league relegation, which achieved the highest number of spectators with 2,818 spectators, the fans experienced a special atmosphere. On average, 679 spectators watched the relegation games, which represents an increase of 10.38 percent compared to the previous season. BFV President Christoph Kern highlighted the special energy in the relegation games and emphasized the great support that the clubs received.
With all of these backgrounds and anecdotes in mind, the teams are now entering the new season with a clear goal in mind. The spectators can look forward to an exciting opening game of the season, where not only goals but also hopefully a lot of emotions on the pitch can be expected.
