Erlangen in turmoil: 600 citizens demonstrate against the AfD!

On Saturday, February 1, 2025, several groups gathered in Erlangen that demonstrated for their respective concerns. Around 600 people came together on Huguenotplatz to protest against the AfD. At 9:30 a.m., the meeting started at Rathausplatz under the motto "Brandwall against the right", in which around 400 people took part and made moving towards the city center around 10:30 a.m.

At the same time, a stationary assembly with around 200 participants was held on Huguenotplatz under the title "Information against the AfD". The police had to intervene to keep the area around the AfD information stand free because the protesters became more and more aggressive. Speeches and verbal clashes between the demonstrators and the information stand operators crashed into each other. In the short term, police officers had to proceed against about a dozen participants by pushing and pressing. From 1:00 p.m. the number of participants fell to only about 60 people. The meeting came to an end at 3:45 p.m. after the police, including a team from Middle Franconia, provided security and order.
