Fire brigade nostalgia: classic cars steal the show in Müritz!
On April 24, 2025, Christian Pegel (SPD), Minister for the Interior, Construction and Digitization, handed over two special needs assignments to the Schwarz volunteer fire brigade and the Burste fire brigade Rechlin. This event took place in the small community of Schwarz, where an impressive classic car, a ZIL fire truck from 1984, was also presented. The ZIL, which is classified as TLF 3000, will soon be replaced by a modern LF 20 extinguishing group vehicle.
The Schwarz volunteer fire brigade plans to replace an outdated IFA W50 TLF from 1989. The FRUHILLER fire brigade also wants to exchange a similar vehicle, an IFA W50 TLF, built in 1983, which has been in active service for over 40 years. Wolf-Dieter Ringguth, Mayor of Rechlin, commented on the importance of the tank fire engine, which is important for the community due to its welfare value. He also emphasized the dependence of the community on the two-thirds funding for the exchange of the vehicle.
funding from the country
At the handover of the funding notices, Vice Councilor Thomas Müller (CDU) said that Rechlin received EUR 206,666.66 for the LF 20 for an HLF 10 and Schwarz. The country has guaranteed to provide the same amount through special requirements assignments. These benefits represent a promise of funding for the next few years and a half, whereby the applications must be submitted by the end of December 2026. The final decision on the amount of the funding is made in the state parliament during the budget debate.
Nadine Julitz (SPD) emphasized that it was a gratifying development that several vehicles could be replaced in the Müritz region. In parallel to the donations for black and rash, the Nossentinian Hütte volunteer fire brigade also received special needs assignment for an LF 10.

the eligible construction also includes buying vehicles, supporters and devices, as well as the creation of gender -separated sanitary rooms in existing fire station. This shows the commitment of the Free State of Bavaria for contemporary equipment and infrastructure of the fire brigades.
Overall, the new guidelines and funding strengthen the security of citizens and the performance of the fire brigades in Bavaria.
