Change of coach at Greuther Fürth: Kleine has to leave after failure!

SpVgg Greuther Fürth is taking a new path: After those responsible were no longer convinced of Thomas Kleine's abilities, the coach was fired today. NN.de reports that the decision was made despite “maximum confidence” in his qualities. Heiko Vogel, who most recently worked as sports director at FC Basel, is taking over the coaching position and is already starting to prepare for the upcoming Frankenderby.

The problems with Kleine seem to have started early. At a training camp in Tyrol it became obvious that the team was not as harmonious as those responsible had imagined. This led to a disappointing record in the 2nd Bundesliga, where the club is in penultimate 17th place after 14 games with 37 goals conceded. The most recent defeat against Bochum (0-3) was already the ninth defeat this season and as of yet Kicker reported, contributed significantly to the decision to dismiss Kleine.

New coach, new hope

Fortunately, Heiko Vogel is optimistic about the challenge of getting the team back on track. Not only is he really looking forward to working with the team, but he has also been confronted with his clear goal: Fürth urgently needs to find the path to success. Vogel is supported by his assistant coaches Danny Schwarz and Aleksandro Petrovic, who are supposed to bring a breath of fresh air into the team. During his presentation, Vogel emphasized that he wanted to motivate the players in order to return to more positive results.

The dismissal of Thomas Kleine is part of a worrying development in the 2nd Bundesliga, where there have been a total of 15 coaching changes this season t online analyzed. The league attracts with big names and exciting games. But the frequent changes of coach raise the question of how stable the clubs can be in the long term. Benno Möhlmann, President of the Association of German Football Teachers, expressed worrying thoughts about this increasing trend and emphasized the need to critically examine the reasons for such decisions.

The new coach Vogel now has a big task ahead of him and the hope for improvement rests on his shoulders. Fans are curious to see whether he can turn things around with a good hand before it's too late.
