Ski jumping star Sara Marita Kramer ends season because of illness!
Oberstdorf, Deutschland - The ski jumping season 2023/2024 has ended prematurely for the Austrian athlete Sara Marita Kramer . The reason for this is stubborn belt rose that has significantly affected its training rhythm since January. The only 23-year-old athlete, who has already won the overall World Cup and won 15 World Cup victories in her career, decided to fully concentrate on her regeneration.
Kramer's last competition participation was anything but successful: she took 31st place in the qualification of the New Year's jumping in Oberstdorf and ended up in the 24th place in the competitions in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. She achieved her best season result with a 16th place in Lillehammer in November. Since her last World Cup victory, which was more than three years ago, she has been struggling with her form.
focus on health
like Krone , Kramer was not nominated for the RAW Air competitions in Oslo and Vikersund due to her health problems. The Austrian team, consisting of Lisa Eder, Julia Mühlbacher, Jacqueline Seifriedsberger and Eva Pinkelnig, will start without them. These competitions are crucial for women before the season ends on March 21st in Lahti.
The coaches of the ÖSV, including head coach Bernhard Metzler, critically observed Kramer's decline in performance. Metzler said that she is in a low of shape and may be maneuvered in the wrong direction. Signs of uncertainty and difficulties to let go of the past can also be seen. Kramer had already missed the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing after a Corona disease, which is considered a turning point in her career.
Current situation and challenges
The pressure increases because the technology in ski jumping has developed considerably in recent years. Kramer, who currently occupies 27th place in the overall World Cup, has to adapt to these new requirements in order to find the road to success again. Her last appearance at the World Cup in Sapporo, where she celebrated her first World Cup victory five years ago, is denied - another setback in her previous season.
In view of the difficult conditions and health challenges, Sara Marita Kramer's focus is clear: the complete regeneration and the reconstruction of a stable training rhythm are now a top priority. This could be the key to returning to the podium in future competitions, as well as Kurier NotesDetails | |
