Casage in Kierspe: Yes -Vership leads to account booking!

A Kiersper was the victim of a fraudulent call after her daughter answered "Yes" on the phone when asked about her name. This harmless dialogue led to money for an alleged subscription from her account in the following days. Fortunately, the bank was able to book the funds back, and the person concerned reported to the police, which is now determined.

The perfidious method in which callers make the interlocutors make "yes" to say, is known and is increasingly used to prove supposed contracts. It remains unclear whether and how the fraudsters get their victims' personal data. The police are advised to take immediate measures and undo debit. It is important that those affected quickly report to the bank, file a complaint and obtain legal advice. According to the law, certain contracts on the phone cannot simply be concluded with a "yes"- this includes in particular profit discussions, energy contracts as well as internet and mobile phone contracts.
