Apply now: 100,000 euros for small projects in the Haßberge district!

Rural development in the Haßberge district is picking up speed. The ILE Lebensregion plus Hassberge – Maintal-Steigerwald has applied to the Lower Franconia Office for Rural Development (ALE) for a regional budget for small projects, which offers numerous opportunities for 2026. As the Main Post reported, a total of 100,000 euros is available, subject to approval by the ALE. This sum is intended to support eleven municipalities in the southern district of Haßberge.

What does that mean specifically? The regional budget supports small projects with a funding requirement of 500 euros or more. The maximum eligible total expenses are 20,000 euros net. Committed citizens, associations or municipalities with exciting ideas can therefore secure good financial support. The application documents are available on the respective community alliance websites, and interested project sponsors should definitely contact the alliance manager before submitting the application.

Deadlines and decision-making processes

There is one important point to note: The application deadline ends on December 15, 2025. Citizens and representatives of associations and communities form the decision-making bodies that evaluate the funding applications. Selected projects can receive funding of up to 80 percent of the eligible gross costs, but a maximum of 10,000 euros per project. The implementation of the funded projects must then be completed and billed by September 30, 2026.

This initiative is aimed at strengthening regional identity and improving living conditions in rural areas. This once again underlines the importance of prioritizing society's commitment to rural development.

Support for domestic projects

Small projects are an excellent way to realize creative ideas while strengthening the community. Be it a new playground, a village square or a cultural project – the possibilities are diverse. The only important thing is that the projects meet the requirements and are submitted on time. In this respect, anyone interested should not hesitate and prepare their applications in good time.

Rural development is a valuable undertaking that not only benefits the direct project sponsors, but also promotes the overall sense of community. If you also have ideas for the region, seize the opportunity! Visit the Main Post for more information and start your project.
