A serious traffic accident caused a stir on Saturday morning in the Gaibach district of Volkach, in the Kitzingen district. Two cars collided violently, causing dramatic scenes. One of the vehicles rolled over several times and landed on its roof in bushes more than 100 meters away. The fire department was quickly alerted and brought in a total of 40 emergency services from Gaibach, Kolitzheim and Volkach to bring the situation on site under control. The firefighters closed the road, provided fire protection, dealt with spilled operating materials and cleared up the debris field Main Post reported.
The first responders do important work both before and after the fire department arrives. The driver of the overturned vehicle was freed with considerable effort, while the other person involved in the accident was able to get out of his vehicle independently. Both drivers then had to be treated on site by the emergency doctor and rescue service before they were taken to surrounding hospitals. The rescue effort lasted almost two hours, during which the Volkach fire department was on site with four vehicles.
