Kronach receives new sports facility: City council gives the green light!

Something is happening in the area of sports and leisure in the city of Kronach! The Urban Development and Economic Committee recently set the course for several exciting construction projects, including the long-awaited new building Multisport facility near Haßlachgasse. This decision was unanimous and is supported by Mayor Angela Hofmann and the entire committee. The project promises to significantly improve the city's sporting infrastructure.

The planned sports field will not only include a basketball court, but also a sports structure for strength and endurance sports. The innovative Callanetics method is used to promote strength, endurance, mobility and coordination. In total, the facility will cover an area of around 230 square meters and will be accessible to different age groups and fitness levels.

Flood protection in focus

An important aspect of the construction project is flood protection, as the multi-sports facility is in the so-called HQ-100 area. This means that special requirements regarding flood protection must be observed during construction. The committee has clearly stipulated that the construction project must not affect the existing flood protection measures. In this context, the project manager, Nikolai Freiherr von Brandis, explained that comprehensive security measures are planned to meet the requirements.

More construction projects in the pipeline

But that's not all! In addition to the multi-sports facility, other construction projects were also put on the agenda. This includes one new residential building with a double garage and the replacement construction of a storage shed for agricultural equipment in Knellendorf. While the new residential building was under discussion with regard to the roof pitch, the project for the shelter hall received unanimous approval.

Due to the roof pitch restrictions in the development plan, the new residential building had to undergo slight adjustments in the form of an exemption to 30 degrees, but this was considered minor. The committee's unanimous decision shows that the city has a good hand at creating new housing options.

Overall, with these new projects, Kronach is setting an example for positive urban development. The new multi-sports facility will certainly delight many citizens and offer inviting opportunities for sporting activities. We can only hope that construction work begins soon!
