Cultural highlight 2025: Miesbach's new cultural foundation inspires!
It was a year full of cultural highlights in the Miesbach district. 2025 is coming to a successful end, and on December 17th the district council unanimously decided to establish a cultural foundation that will further enrich the cultural landscape. A look at the year's diverse events and projects shows the region's lively cultural scene. So reported CultureVision that a large number of exhibitions, theater performances and concerts took place in 2025 alone.
The Schlossbergler Valley theater group caused a sensation with their production of “The Watzmann Calls” and already celebrated a success with “The Robbers” at the beginning of the year. The productions by the Junge Bühne Miesbach and the Schlierseer Bauerntheater also thrilled the audience. A special highlight was the performance of Agatha Christie's classic "The Mousetrap", which attracted large numbers of spectators in the spoken theater.
Theater, music and art
Artistic diversity was also represented by the Free State Theater of Bavaria, which came to the fore with Brecht's “Threepenny Opera”. Matthias Schmid, director of the Tegernsee Volkstheater, also celebrated successes with “Crash Landing in Paradise” and “The Snow Queen”. The cultural events were supplemented by the management of initiatives such as the Friends of Young Musicians, which celebrated its 40th anniversary with the “Podium of Young Musicians” concert series.
Music lovers got their money's worth at the international music festival at Tegernsee and the Miesbach chamber music festival, where, among other things Juliette Greer, a talented American-French violinist, made her debut. She is known for her versatile musicality and was most recently a member of the Orchester de Paris.
Cultural highlights and new initiatives
There was also no shortage of other cultural highlights: the Tegernsee Week, the Schliersee Cultural Autumn and the Valley Cultural Days offered a varied program. The Olaf Gulbransson Museum enjoyed high visitor numbers under the direction of Michael Beck and the new “Tegernsee Conversations” series featured exciting discussions about art and commerce. Exhibitions by local artists were also presented in the various galleries and cultural centers.
An innovative project in 2025 was the Cultural Atlas, a networking platform for cultural workers, which will go online in January 2026. This initiative will certainly help to network cultural actors within and outside the district even more intensively. This also shows the commitment of CultureVision, who act as ambassadors for the Bavarian Cultural Future Foundation.
Art and culture funding at the federal level also plays a crucial role. Loud Federal Art Administration Support focuses on projects of national importance and contributes to the preservation of cultural heritage. This is made possible through collaboration between federal, state and local actors to promote artistic initiatives.
In summary, it can be said that the year 2025 was a complete success for culture in the Miesbach district. The establishment of the cultural foundation will certainly ensure the continuation of this positive development and provide new impetus.
