Zero new infections in the Miesbach district – hope for normality!

On July 1, 2025, the Miesbach district in Bavaria shows a consistently positive development with regard to the COVID-19 situation. No new coronavirus infections were reported today. In the last seven days, the number of new cases also remained at zero, corresponding to a 7-day incidence of 0.0 per 100,000 inhabitants. A total of 53,564 positive tests have been recorded since the start of the pandemic [news.de].

The current status of intensive care medicine in the district shows that all 12 intensive care beds are occupied, but no COVID-19 patients are currently being treated. This is also reflected in the Bavarian overall figures, where 19 new infections were recorded on the same day, giving a 7-day incidence of 0.6 per 100,000 inhabitants. The total number of people who tested positive in Bavaria is now over 6.8 million.

Vaccinations and vaccination rate

The vaccination campaign is also showing progress. A total of 27,118,479 vaccinations have been carried out in Bavaria so far (as of February 27, 2024). The rate of basic immunizations is currently 75.3%, while 77.9% have been vaccinated at least once. The commitment of the population in Miesbach and Bavaria in the fight against the pandemic remains high.

Another interesting point is the newly discovered Corona variant Nimbus (NB.1.8.1), which has been under observation since January 2025. However, so far there is no evidence of more severe disease progression in connection with this variant, which underlines the general easing of the situation.

Overall overview

While the numbers in Miesbach and throughout Bavaria are optimistic, it is still important to remain vigilant. Across Germany, 100 new infections were reported on July 1st, and the total number of deaths from COVID-19 is 187,731. These developments, as well as the age distribution of the number of infections, show that younger age groups in particular are more severely affected, which indicates a potential discrepancy in the vaccination rate.

The effectiveness of the vaccinations combined with the decline in new infections gives hope that we are on the right track. The health of the population is the top priority, and the past few weeks show that patience and discipline are important to overcome this crisis. A positive future is within reach for the Miesbach district.
