Mühldorf is celebrating: Over 1000 participants in the first ODU city run!

On October 26, 2025, the old town of Mühldorf was the venue for the first ODU city run, an event that made the hearts of over 1,000 participants beat faster. The “mühldorf BEWEGT” initiative had a very special goal with this event: 60,000 euros were to be collected by the end of October for a motor skills park in the city park on the city wall. Thanks to a great team effort, the goal was not only achieved, but significantly exceeded. That reports innsalzach24.

The city run, which ran over a 1.2 kilometer circuit from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., was supported by the main sponsor ODU, a renowned manufacturer of connector systems. Mayor Michael Hetzl highlighted the importance of the sponsor for the initiative and ODU managing director Robert Klemisch emphasized the company's social responsibility. “We are happy to do our part,” he revealed and announced that ODU would make an additional donation for every lap completed.

A day full of movement and community

The event started early in the morning and offered participants and visitors a wealth of activities. In addition to the city run, the traditional Simon Judi market also took place on the town square, where there was a lot to discover from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There was also a Sunday shopping event in the city center from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., which created a lot of activity.

Registering for the city run was easy, both online and on site in the Haberkasten. The participation fee was 10 euros for adults and 5 euros for children and young people. Each participant received a starter bag with a T-shirt, water, fruit and vegetables, and there was a medal and prizes for the most laps completed and the strongest teams. This combination of sporting competition and the opportunity to do good made the ODU city run an unforgettable experience for everyone.

Setting an example for the community

The “mühldorf BEWEGT” initiative stands for movement and cohesion among citizens. It advocates low-threshold, free sports offerings that appeal to all age groups. This is also reflected in the high number of participants and the great response to the event - a sign that the people in Mühldorf are ready to take action together.
