Red farmers' market: a joint project that the villages combined!
Red farmers' market: a joint project that the villages combined!
The Rotter Farmersmarkt, which has been taking place every Friday for 36 years, has developed into a permanent institution in the municipality of Rott am Inn. Under the direction of Christa Peltzer, the chairman of the "Rotter Bauernmarkt" association, numerous sellers who offer fresh products and thus beat a bridge between producers and consumers.
With a sales area of 20 by 6 meters, the market offers a colorful selection of products. Bread, sausage, coffee and many other delicacies are presented by 15 to 20 sales assistants. These mostly come from the region and bring their own products with them, as part of a clearly organized division of labor. Around 40 suppliers supply the market, although not everyone sells directly. The proceeds of 14 percent are divided: 4 percent flow into the preservation and operation, 10 percent go to the sellers themselves.
community and support
The community stands behind the Rotter farmers' market and the local economy shows gratitude towards the sellers, who often slipped into the market organization by chance. For many of them, the market offers a valuable way to escape everyday life and maintain social contacts. Peltzer does not have his own farm himself, but has come to the market through family obligations.
The good organization is also evident in the association's counter work during the annual meeting in the Landgasthof Stechl, where Hannelore Brandmaier's cash report had positive developments. Despite fluctuating sales, especially in the summer months, Advent and Christmas market sales were compensated for. However, the sellers did not discourage challenges such as weather influences and water damage that required new fittings.
an experience for all senses
peasant markets not only offer fresh products directly from the producer, but also promote the support of the local economy. Purchasing on the market strengthens small businesses and contributes to a more sustainable economic approach, as many producers use environmentally friendly cultivation methods. Fresh foods that are often harvested on the same day offer an intensive taste experience.
The Rotter farmers market is not only a place for purchasing, but also a social meeting point in the community. This meets neighbors and friends, share experiences and enjoy the diverse culinary offers. In this sense, the market is not only a place of trade, but also an important part of community life in Rott am Inn.
As in many other cities and villages in Germany, the farmers' market plays a central role in local care and social exchange. The Rotter farmers' market remains an indispensable part of the municipality, which will continue to ensure the quality of the products and social interactions in the future.
