After work guidance: Discover Ruth Kohn's biblical art in Passau!

Kleiner Exerzierplatz 15a, 94032 Passau, Deutschland - On Thursday, May 8, 2025, the University Church of St. Nikola in Passau invites you to a special after work tour with the artist Ruth Kohn . The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and shows the exhibition "Images of the Old Testament", which includes a selection of Kohn's paintings and drawings. These works are created on large wooden panels with crayons and tell stories from the Old Testament. They are also supplemented with biblical texts in Hebrew, Czech and German.

Ruth Kohn, born in Trebusice, Czech Republic in 1937, exhibits her work as a loan in the university church. The exhibition is organized as part of a closer cooperation between the diocese of Passau, the Department of Catholic Theology at the University of Passau and the Catholic Student Community of Passau. The exhibition "Images of the Old Testament" was opened on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 6 p.m. in the Nikolaikirche and has been accessible every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This series of exhibitions was organized by the Catholic Student Community Passau (KSG), the mentorat, the art of the diocese of Passau and the Department of Catholic Theology at the University of Passau. As part of the opening program, there was a conversation between Ruth Kohn and the moderator Katrin Jordan, press spokeswoman at the University of Passau. The event was musically framed by David Kohn, Charlotte Birchinger and Brigitte Erl.

On November 17, 2023, Ruth Kohn was awarded the honorary award of the Rottal-Inn district. The laudation held Dr. Volker Ziegert, who also appeared as a speaker at Kohn's exhibitions. This exhibition was opened on May 12, 2023 and ran until June 11, 2023. In Triftern, weekly guided tours took place every Sunday at 2 p.m., who wanted to win a broader public for Kohn's work. The exhibition in the Czech Cultural Center Paris will be seen from May 1st to May 26, 2024.
