The federal government supports Barnim: 1.5 million euros for cultural projects until 2030!

In the Barnim district, the cultural scene is being taken to a new level! The federal government has decided to provide 1.5 million euros from the “Aller.Land” program for regional cultural projects. This is not only a financial blessing, but also a sign of the importance of culture and civic participation in rural areas. The funding runs until 2030 and is part of a larger overall budget of up to 69.4 million euros for various projects throughout Germany, which can be found here: britz-chorin-oderberg.de.

A total of 45 million euros is available for 30 projects, with each project receiving 1.5 million euros in funding. In addition to financial support, the states and municipalities must also contribute 10 percent of the costs to co-financing. This initiative aims to strengthen cohesion in rural regions and promote democracy through active citizen participation.

Creativity and participation

The program “Aller.Land – shaping together. Strengthening structures.” is particularly aimed at rural, structurally weak regions in Germany. The financial resources are intended to be used to realize creative ideas that, above all, involve local people. This includes inviting artists, organizing music festivals and converting empty buildings for cultural activities. The projects are selected by independent expert juries, which are based on criteria such as regional anchoring and networking. You will be informed about what the program actually looks like landkreis-rottweil.de.

A special feature of the funded projects is the participation of underrepresented groups, such as young people or people with disabilities. “Aller.Land” wants to invite people to participate and develop new cultural formats that take the challenges of the region into account.

Planned projects and developments

The Rottweil district has already received funding of 40,000 euros for a one-year development phase. Here, cultural workers were able to work together on concepts and finalize the first ideas for the implementation phase. Previous plans include a variety of formats, such as citizen participation processes in multi-generational homes and intergenerational art projects. A particular focus is on creating places for encounters and shaping the culture according to the needs of the population.

In addition, a steering group made up of representatives from the cultural scene will be founded to provide advisory support and face-to-face events will be held to provide information about the funding program. A follow-up application for the implementation phase will be submitted in December 2024, with the hope of a further 1.35 million euros by 2030.

The commitment and creativity of the people in these regions show that culture can not only be preserved, but also actively shaped.
