Men triumph at the Urflight tournament – 1,800 euros for early support!
The Urflight tournament in Bad Birnbach created excitement this year, and not only the participants were highly motivated. The men won the race with 422 to 390 gross points, while Captain Max Enggruber, who last year spoke of a “bitter revenge” from the women, could see his men cheering. Will the ladies turn the tables next year? That remains to be seen!
In the individual gross ranking, Kurt Jungbauer and Johann Haunreiter shone with 38 points and were able to secure first place. Rudi Schwarz and Walter Magulsky closely followed them with 37 points. In the net ranking, Manuela Müller and Claudia Geiger set the standards with 49 points and won a suckling pig prepared by Gerhard Maier. Rudi Schwarz and Walter Magulsky as well as Hans Döhring and Berndt Aster also scored points.
A charming contribution for a good cause
A big thank you goes to everyone involved in the charity tournament, which raised 1,800 euros for the Rottal-Inn interdisciplinary early intervention center in the Franz Randak House in Eggenfelden. Patron Dr. Helga Kirsch insisted on contributing a significant portion of the income. Christine Dornberger-Uttendorfer and Silvia Schöfmann from the early intervention center gratefully accepted the donation.
The Rottal-Inn early intervention center, which has existed since 1975 and is headquartered in Eggenfelden, is an important contact point for families with children from birth to school entry. The aim is to promote good development in children and reduce insecurities among parents. The focus is particularly on children whose development is at risk due to premature birth or stressful family conditions.
Diverse offers for the little ones
The early intervention center's offerings are diverse and range from support with language development problems to behavioral issues such as fears or lack of concentration. Parents can trust that they will be helped in difficult times. Early intervention is free and accessible to everyone, regardless of income and wealth, which underlines the family-oriented approach.
Collaboration in early education is interdisciplinary. Specialists from different fields such as psychology, education and medicine ensure that all aspects of the child's development are taken into account. Whether in your own home or in daycare centers, the support takes place where the children feel most comfortable. Information is readily available through pediatricians and health departments as well as online research, helping parents find the right support.
A total of around 650 children have already been looked after in the early intervention center, and this will continue. It is important not to lose sight of early support in order to prevent impairments. The great solidarity at events like the Urflight tournament shows that local solidarity is strong.
Plans for next year are already in the works and it will be interesting to see whether the women will regain their place in the tournament or whether the men will come out on top again.
