Stefan Raab says goodbye: New dating show takes over!
Köln, Deutschland - Stefan Raab returns from the screen after almost ten years of absence and has fought for a broadcasting station on free TV with his RTL program "You are not winning the million". Since February 12, 2024, the show, which was initially only available on RTL+, has also been broadcast on linear television. Despite the initial success with over 15 percent market share, the odds have been very popular since then. Currently, only an average of 480,000 spectators between the ages of 14 and 49 are watching, which has led to a market share of only 9.1 percent. Raab's format is behind other programs, even the afternoon program "The Criminal Court", which could achieve better odds, such as the Kurier reported.
From June 18, 2025, the program will be sent into a summer break. During this time, the new dating show "Die Bachelors" will take over Raab's show. In this program, the two Rosenkavaliere Felix Stein (32, photographer) and Martin Braun (35, insurance and financial investment fachmann) will be looking for great love. Both men have been single for several years: Felix Stein has a five -year -old son, while Martin Braun has two daughters and has been divorced for three and a half years. The first episodes of the dating show will be available on the streaming service RTL+ from June 11, 2025, such as Express reported.
return and current challenges
Stefan Raab, who is now 58, celebrated his return to RTL in autumn 2024 after working for ProSieben for years. During his time on the new broadcaster, Raab treated various topics, including the Bundestag election and the pope election. Despite this variety of content, the number of spectators remained behind the expectations, which caused RTL to plan two special celebrity programs to increase the odds. The decision to go into the summer break was apparently also necessary by the declining odds, such as Ruhr24 reported.
whether Raab returns to linear television after the summer break remains uncertain. RTL plans to communicate more information about the future of the moderator and its format in the near future. The path for "Die Bachelors" is already in dry towels, and the broadcast will take place on Wednesdays at 8:15 p.m.
