Traunstein celebrates its 135th Gaufest: tradition meets atmosphere and fun!
The 135th Gaufest of Gauverband I will be celebrated in Traunstein from July 18th to 20th, 2025. The festive start on Friday evening was all about tradition and community. Mayor Dr. Christian Hümmer tapped the first barrel of beer that evening, marking the festive start to the colorful hustle and bustle that awaits the city and its visitors. On Saturday, July 19th, the traditional Gauheimat evening will take place at the festival site along Siegsdorfer Straße at 8 p.m. A highlight on the program is the festival service, which will be celebrated on Sunday, July 20th, at 10 a.m. in the city park. After the service there is a festive parade through the city center of Traunstein, where you can admire the magnificent traditional costumes of the participants.
Festivities and offers
The Traunstein festival community has prepared a lot for the festival visitors. On the occasion of the Gaufest, two large tents will be erected at the festival site, equipped with over 860 beer table sets and around 500 cakes. On Sunday the festival begins at 9 a.m. with a procession to the church square, followed by the parade at around 11 a.m Gauverband I informed. The Wabach Musi and the Alpenblickquintet will provide entertainment on the musical stage in the tent.
Physical well-being is also comprehensively taken care of. Visitors can dine heartily in the large tents and enjoy one or two delicacies. With all the offers it is clear: there is something for every taste. With around 8,000 traditional costumers, Sunday will be a very special day for the city. The volunteers will ensure that everything runs smoothly and that visitors are well guided to the various parking spaces.
Arrival and parking options
If you arrive by car, you can look forward to free parking spaces in the Seiboldsdorf area along Hochstrasse. There are also parking options in the lower city area at Karl-Theodor-Platz. Regular shuttles take visitors to the festival site and back. The anticipation of an unforgettable weekend is palpable and the Gaufest promises to be a real highlight of the Traunstein events calendar.
