With a solemn event, the Wasserwacht Weißenburg recently put its new lifeboat on the Brombachsee. The solemn baptism of the boat, which was called "Michi", took place at the Seespitz wax station in Absberg. The naming is a warm homage to a recently deceased comrade, and the event was a popular meeting place for club members as well as guests of honor from the district water guard and the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK)
The German Life Rescue Society (DLRG) also has a high priority in addition to the water watch when ensuring security at the Brombachsee. From May to September, voluntary lifeguards on weekends and public holidays ensure the safety of bathers and water sports enthusiasts explains that the DLRG is active at two water rescue stations. The introduction of the new rescue boat "Michi" is another step towards more security on the water.
