Berlin is preparing for the Mega event Gitex Europe!

From May 21 to 23, 2025, Berlin once again becomes the center of the technology and start-up scene when the "Gitex Europe" opens its goals on the exhibition center under the radio tower. The event is considered the largest of its kind in Europe and is organized by Kaoun International, a subsidiary of the Dubai World Trade Center. The fair is said to attract around 40,000 visitors, of which 75% will be in Berlin for the first time, such as reports.

Preparation for the Gitex Europe are already in full swing. The ruling mayor Kai Wegner (CDU) and Senator for Economic Affairs Franziska Giffey (SPD) recently presented the program, which includes 500 international speakers and 600 investors from 67 countries. Topics such as artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, cyber security, green technologies and digitization of companies are the focus of the fair. A highlight will be the lecture by Nobel Prize winner Geoffrey Hinton about artificial intelligence that will initiate the discussion about how these technologies can shape the future.

strategic relevance for Europe

"Gitex Europe" is not only considered significant by the international tech and start-up community, and local voices also emphasize the importance of this trade fair. Dr. Mario Tobias, CEO of Messe Berlin, emphasizes the influence on the networking and exchange of ideas within the industry. He sees the fair as a valuable addition to the existing portfolio of the Messe Berlin, which includes events such as the FinTech Festival Fibe and the Digital-Health Messe DMEA, such as Messe Berlin reported.

At Gitex Europe, companies have the opportunity to present their latest technologies and solutions. More than 1,400 companies from 100 countries will be present, including leading brands such as AWS, IBM, Cisco, Dell, Nvidia and SAP. Trixie Lohmirmand, CEO of Kaoun International, emphasizes the urgency to maintain the digital sovereignty of Europe and to assert innovation leadership in global competition. This fair could thus become a strategic platform for the technological future of Europe.

focus on green technologies and innovations

The Greentech Festival takes place in parallel to the Gitex Europe, although it is not mentioned in the official program. This could offer additional options for networking between the participants of the two events. The thematic focus of the Gitex Europe also includes future issues such as meta -verse, blockchain and future mobility, all of which pursue a sustainable approach. This is in accordance with Berlin's goal of performing as a pioneer in the European startup landscape, where 5,600 start-ups are now located and over 25 unicorns have been founded.

Overall, Gitex Europe will be an important event that could shape the future of technology in Europe. With the support of initiatives such as Berlin Partners for Economics and Technology, around 20 start-ups are currently presenting themselves at Gitex Global and are actively looking for partnerships and investors to bring their innovations to market maturity. Berlin could continue to act as a magnet for investments and technologies, as Giffey emphasizes.
