Traffic chaos in Berlin: Police fight mobile phone use at the wheel!
In March, the Berlin police targeted traffic safety at intersections with an impressive campaign! With 539 targeted operations, over 6,100 vehicles, 790 cyclists and 77 pedestrians were checked - a massive blow against traffic violations! The numbers are alarming: around 5,500 administrative offenses were punished, including many violations by mobile phone users at the wheel, ignoring red lights and unauthorized driving on sidewalks.
In addition, the regulatory offices over 61,415 showed violations of stopping and parking. 3,416 vehicles had to be implemented - a clear sign that the police want to make the streets safer again! A highlight was the "dead corner" campaign, which truck drivers and other road users informed about the dangers of difficult-to-see areas. The aim was to raise awareness of the risks in road traffic and to present effective solutions. The cooperation between the police, regulatory offices and the BVG shows how serious it is to ensure security for all road users!
