Wahl.chat: The smart election aid for undecided voters 2025!
Deutschland - The Bundestag election 2025 is just around the corner and many voters are undecided which party they should choose. The election will take place on February 23, 2025. In order to help the voters in their decision-making, the popular “Wahl-O-Mat” will be available from February 6, 2025. An exciting alternative to this known tool is the newly developed "Wahl.chat", which is already accessible online and offers comprehensive information on the election programs of the parties.
The "Wahl.chat" is a AI-based chatbot developed by Munich students and a lecturer. By using "Natural Language Processing", he analyzes the users' questions and delivers precisely. In this way, voters can receive specific information about the positions of the parties and questions such as "What are the most important goals of the party?" or "How does the party want to boost the economy?" place. This AI assistant aims to enable a source-based exchange about party positions, which is supported by the provision of source information on the answers. ZDF reports that took the development of the tool for about a month and a "democracy tour" is planned to inform young people about the parties.
functions of the Wahl.chat
In contrast to the Wahl-O-Mat, the "Wahl.chat" answers active inquiries from users. The answers are deliberately briefly and neutrally formulated without saying any election recommendations. The chat bot allows users to communicate with both individual parties and with several parties at the same time. This allows differences in the election programs, such as in pension policy between the CDU/CSU and the SPD, to be worked out in detail. The CDU/CSU is pursuing an approach that promotes economic growth and company pension scheme, while the SPD focuses on securing the pension level and avoiding an increase in retirement age.
Despite the promising functions of the "Wahl.chat", the development team is aware of the challenges and risks associated with the use of AI. AI expert Uwe Messer advises caution when using chatbots, since not all parties approved for the Bundestag election are represented in the chat bot. Improvements and new functions are already being planned, including comparisons of the answers with the voting behavior from the past legislative period.
artificial intelligence and their challenges
artificial intelligence plays an increasingly important role in politics. It offers possibilities for analyzing voter needs and can optimize the election process. At the same time, it brings with it challenges, such as the need for data security and transparency in decision -making. Ki Echo emphasizes the importance of transparency in the AI decision finding in order to gain the trust of the citizens.
The advantages of AI in politics are diverse, including the increase in efficiency in administrative processes and the improvement of citizens' interaction. At the same time, however, there is also the risk of algorithmic bias and data protection violations that could endanger voters' trust. In order to optimally use the potential of AI in political participation, a dialogue between technology experts, political decision -makers and civil society is essential.
