Future of the Lesum police station: Citizens are demanding clear solutions!

The future of the Lesum police station and the planning of new schools were the focus of the advisory board meeting in Burglesum. According to a report of the Weser-Kurier already submitted a petition to the future of the police station in November. A planned move of the operating service to Vegesack will significantly reduce the personnel structure of the area. In addition, the police building at Hindenburgstrasse 32 is considered too great and requires an urgent renovation.

At the meeting, the need for conversions and additional security measures was discussed, since the police will no longer be around the clock on site. An alternative location for the police station has not yet been found. It is also considered to use the police building together with other authorities and offices. It remains unclear which authority is responsible for the renovation and whether the police can stay in the building during the work. The invited speakers included the State Council of the Senator of the Interior and Sports, Olaf Bull, as well as representatives of the police.

school planning and traffic situation in Lesum

The plans for a new primary school and a high school in Lesum had to be abandoned due to the lack of financial resources. A proposal for the construction of a new primary school near the Paul Goldschmidt School is currently unclear. In particular, the increase in the number of students raises questions about the accommodation of elementary school students. An alternative proposal for high school provides for mobile buildings on Steinkamp because a move to Bördestrasse is not possible.

In addition, residents in Grambke complain about increased traffic and speed overruns in residential areas, as these are used as a detour in the event of disorders on the motorway 27. A corresponding citizens' application for the traffic situation in Grambke was directed to the advisory board. The next advisory board meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 21, at 7 p.m. in the Burglesum local office, Oberreihe 2, and is public.

The police department lesum is for the districts of Burgdamm, Marßel, Burg, Grambke, Grambke, Werderland, Burglesum and Sankt Magnus responsible and currently has around 33,800 inhabitants. It has police stations in Marßel and Grambke and focuses on presence in the district as well as citizen counseling and prevention work. The area is available for 24 hours for emergency calls and sees itself as a permanent contact for the citizens.
